I'm at the point in my life when conventions no longer appeal to me. My big focal points right now are graduate school and starting my career, and conventions don't really fit into the picture anymore.
~
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a cosplayer. The hobby has allowed me to meet wonderful, amazing people who have great talents, and I'm grateful for every friendship I've made and each learning opportunity I've experienced.
This is not the end of my hobby as a costumer! I will still attend certain events in costume, such as festivals, parties, and location shoots, and this website will continue to be a networking source and the main portfolio of my creations. More and more these days, I prefer smaller, more personal costuming experiences over big cons, and my interest is shifting away from cosplay and onto movie and historical garment recreation.
This May will be full of thanks and goodbyes to the people who have made cosplaying so wonderful. Let's make it a time to remember!

I love making costumes, but I don't feel the same about cons anymore either. I feel so old and out of place, and it's a 50/50 chance whether it'll be a "pretty good con" or just awful, boring, and I want to go home. xD; Hopefully next Fanime falls into the "pretty good con" category or something better!
However, I also make AMVs and I've made some really good ones in the past so I'll continue making them. I just came up with a great idea for a Cowboy Bebop AMV yesterday.
Even though it's kind of sad (especially since I'll have met you and all our Esca crew!) it's just time for me to move on. Fanime is a great con, though! I know you'll have fun.
BUT, that said...one thing I'm going to continue is location shoots. So there's always the possibility that when folks are in town for a con, we can convene somewhere nearby for a shoot/little get together.
Once I'm financially secure enough to afford a proper trip, I'll visit you in Utah.
Guess I have until you retire to actually befriend you.
